Dear somatic movers, silent disco explorers, and earth enthusiasts, I am absolutely delighted to share some news that has been bubbling up – we're back dancing under the trees!
Following a much-needed break, our unique, heart-opening practice is returning for the summer, and I couldn't be more excited to share a new wilderness dance home with you.
Our New Forest Sanctuary Awaits
I have found a magical and accessible new venue near Brockenhurst (conveniently located just off the A35). A gorgeous 20 minute walk from the car park (exact location provided after registration) Nestled under majestic beech trees and held by surrounding pine, oak, and holly, it is a truly grounding space perfect for deep connection and creative exploration.
This beautiful natural space is yours to move in using our silent disco headsets. Remember: no steps to learn, no judgments, and no expectations – just follow your curiosities, imaginings, and joy.
A New Rhythm: Two Movement Journeys
We are shifting our flow for this summer gathering to create a deeper, more immersive dive into the land and ourselves. Our afternoon will start with an opening circle followed by two 40-minute movement journeys, with a beautifully guided space for nature connection woven right in between them. We will come together at the end to share and close the circle.
Step into an uplifting soundscape woven with music from around the world, intentionally designed to help you connect with and release the body. This is a sacred invitation to drop out of the busy mind, shake off tension, and bring yourself into a much closer, heartfelt connection with both your inner self and the living forest around us.
DJ Louisa Under the Trees
I am super excited to share a personal upgrade: I have been hard at work learning how to mix my music properly! Yes, DJ Louisa is officially under the trees!
Due to the wild nature of our venue, and to ensure we aren't limited by power or unpredictable weather, the soundtrack will be a carefully crafted, pre-recorded mix. This ensures two things:
Supporting the Artists: We are properly honouring the creators of the incredible music we dance to.
Seamless Flow: Our journey will feature seamless mixing, creating a deeper, more immersive wave for your movement.

Water bottle, comfortable layers, and a mat/blanket if needed and any snacks or hot drinks you fancy. -
To look after the Earth and make getting here as seamless as possible, here are your travel options:
By Train, Foot, or Bike: Brockenhurst train station is very close by! From the station, it is a lovely 30-minute walk or a breezy 15-minute cycle to our location. If you take the train down, arranging a lift back to the station with a fellow dancer at the end of the session should be super simple.
By Car & Parking: There is a large car park nearby with public toilets. Please note: Forestry England now charges for parking here. www.forestryengland.uk/car-parks/parking-in-the-new-forest
Carpooling: To save on those parking costs and reduce our footprint, I encourage you to carpool and split the charge with fellow dancers!

As guests in this beautiful, wild space, we want to fully honour and respect the forest, its animals, and all other land users. Please keep these vital guidelines in mind:
Drive Responsibly: Please drive slowly and mindfully on your way in—our famous New Forest ponies and donkeys always have right of way!
Fire Hazards: With the summer heat, the forest is incredibly vulnerable. Absolutely no open flames, matches, or BBQs.
Leave No Trace: Ensure all rubbish is taken home with you and disposed of consciously.
-
Children: Kids are very welcome! There is a rope swing and a den nearby to help entertain them, though they remain your responsibility. If we have spare headsets on the day, they are welcome to try them out.
Car Park and Toilets: There is a large car park nearby with public toilets.
The Walk: It is a fabulous, gentle 20-minute walk from the car park to our site, winding past hedgerow and over a little bridge. A map and exact drop pin will be provided upon registration!

Wilderness Dance is more than just a dance; it is a living, breathing community container. To ensure our time under the trees feels deeply safe, free, and restorative for everyone, we hold a few core agreements close to our hearts.
Whether you are a seasoned somatic mover or stepping onto the earth with us for the very first time, here is how we practice together:
Come as you are
There are no steps to learn, no choreography to follow, and absolutely no expectations. Your unique dance is the right dance.A Sober and Present Space
To truly connect with the land, the music, and our inner landscapes, Wilderness Dance is a completely sober environment. We ask that you arrive clear-headed and ready to meet the moment exactly as it is. Choosing presence allows us to access a natural, ecstatic high through movement, breath, and community.Trauma-Informed and Self-Led
We operate from a gentle, trauma-informed lens, which simply means you are the ultimate authority on your own body and experience.Listen to Your Pacing
You are always invited to modify your movement, slow down, or rest.Take What you Need
If a track feels too intense, you can turn down the volume on your headset, sit under a tree, or wrap yourself in a blanket.Self-responsibility
While the space is held safely and mindfully, we ask that you look after your own physical and emotional boundaries throughout the journey.Connection and Clear Consent
The beauty of silent disco headsets is that we can be deeply in our own worlds while dancing together.Honour the Bubbles
Some dancers will want to journey entirely inward with their eyes closed; others might feel called to interact. Both are beautiful. The Golden Rule of Consent
If you wish to dance with someone, look for clear, enthusiastic eye contact or open body language first. If someone moves away, closes their eyes, or places a hand over their heart, they are lovingly tending to their own space. Please respect their boundary without taking it personally.A Judgment-Free Container
This is a space to shake off inhibition and let the body speak its truth. We actively cultivate an environment free from criticism, comparison, or ‘performing’. By committing to not judging others, we give ourselves the profound permission to stop judging ourselves. -
