Solstice Wilderness Dance

  • Brockenhurst, England United Kingdom (map)

Dear Somatic Movers, Silent Disco Explorers, and Earth Enthusiasts, the Wilderness Dance returns to the New Forest. I cannot wait to dance with you all again!

Our unique, heart-opening practice is returning, and I couldn't be more excited to share our brand-new wilderness home with you.

I’ve found a magical and accessible new venue near Brockenhurst, conveniently located just off the A35. Nestled under majestic beech trees and held by surrounding pine, oak, and holly. It’s a truly grounding space, perfect for deep connection and creative exploration.

This new location brings the opportunity to dance your unique dance in a beautiful natural space using silent disco headsets. There are no steps to learn, no judgments made, and no expectations; all you need to do is follow your curiosities, imaginings, and joy as you move.

The Music
I’m excited to share a personal upgrade – I’ve been learning how to properly mix my music. DJ Louisa is officially in the house (or at least under the trees)!

Because of our wild, weather-prone venue, the soundtrack will be a carefully crafted pre-recorded mix. This brings two big benefits:

  • Supporting the Artists: I can now properly honour and support the creators of the music we dance to.

  • Seamless Flow: The mix should offer a smoother, more immersive dancing journey.

While I’ll still draw from diverse global genres, as we approach the Solstice I feel called to connect more deeply with the land. For this session, I’ll be honouring music from the British Isles to support that natural connection.

A Herbal Offering
To help us connect with the land we’ll begin by sharing a warming, seasonal herbal tea as a mindful welcome and a way to ground ourselves in the natural space before our movement journey begins. Don’t forget to bring your favourite mug!

The delicious blend includes:

  • Hawthorn for opening to love and joy

  • Sloe for protection

  • Pine for it’s aromatic, traditional support

  • Rosehip for sweetness and immunity properties

Bring
A water bottle, comfortable layers, your favourite mug, and a mat or blanket for sitting during the welcome and tea.

Children Welcome
There’s a rope swing and den nearby, but the children remain your responsibility. If we have spare headsets, they’re welcome to try them.

Parking & Toilets
A large car park with public toilets is close by.

The Dance Site
It’s a lovely 20-minute walk from the car park, past puddles, over a small bridge, and up a gentle incline. The exact location details and a drop pin will be sent upon booking.
